Some Things: Shaheen Holloway Starts His Seton Hall Press Conference By Having Everyone Give The Entire St. Peter's Team A Standing O

This is all part of the college basketball world. If you have success at a mid-major, you're going to get poached by a better job. In this case it was Shaheen Holloway going back home to Seton Hall where he was a legit star player. It was a no-brain hire the moment Kevin Willard lost in the first round and said he wanted to see Holloway take over the program. A couple hours later Willard was announced as Maryland's head coach and for like a week and a half nobody said a word about Seton Hall. It was pretty obvious Shaheen Holloway was going to take the job.

Now the difference here is most times the coach doesn't stop to introduce his former players. I know it's a bit different since it's like a 20 minute drive or so from St. Peter's to Seton Hall. Makes it a bit easier. But still, Holloway knows part of the reason he got this job was this team. There's a good chance he still ends up at Seton Hall because he was always a respected mid-major coach, but this team solidified it to the point where Seton Hall didn't even get linked to interview someone else.

There's a couple guarantees with Holloway at Seton Hall. Players are going to LOVE playing for him. That's the one thing you always heard when St. Peter's players talked about him. They will also be decent defensively. Holloway is a defensive-minded coach and you saw that in the Tournament. The biggest question is how will he recruit in the Big East. He should be good because of his ties and people obviously know his name.

Some things man. Some things.
