We're 3-For-3 In KOs At UFC Austin

UFC Fight Nights are back on the road and tonight they've packed a sold-out Moody Center in Austin, Texas for a phenomenal card (headlined by Calvin Kattar vs Josh Emmett)

There's a special energy in the air for this card already as the first three bouts of the night have all featured vicious one-sided performances culminating in knockouts. Here's all three....

Roman Dolidze (+245) KOs Kyle Daukaus (-245) - Round 1

Phil Hawes (-250) TKOs Deron Winn (+230) - Round 2

Cody Stamann (-600) TKOs Eddie Wineland (+600) - Round 1

Random Thoughts

-Roman Dolidze busted the Spinnin Backfist parlay with a gnarly knee in the first fight of the night, and I'll be the first to admit - we gotta step it up. We're still up like +7 units overall but we are on a Felice Herrig-esque cold streak. It's bad. It's embarrassing. We WILL win again next week, though - mark my words.

-"The Pride Of Little Ferry" Phil Hawes had the best performance of the night so far, in my opinion, but it was almost overshadowed by this altercation with Daniel Cormier afterwards where he got scolded like a little kid….

I think Hawes was just fired up on adrenaline and mad that Cormier had allegedly showed bias towards Deron Winn in the build to the fight (as Winn is a Cormier student) and made a foolish decision. He apologized quickly and they got over it, though.

-Cody Stamann looked tremendous but Eddie Wineland is a punching bag at this point. I gasped when it was mentioned on commentary that Wineland just signed a new 4-fight deal with the UFC. No disrespect but it's over for him.

-This is Brendan Fitzgerald's first card in front of fans in like 3 years and I'm happy for that guy. Great commentator and a legit Stoolie. Fitz/Cruz/DC are a great team.

-Cody storming out of the octagon as he was screaming that he was gonna get fuckin wasted was hilarious….

-Joe Lauzon vs Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone has been cancelled for the second time on the night of the fight. Lauzon explains in the video below that his knee locked up after weigh-ins yesterday and he hasn't been able to put weight on it since. Some freak accident that doctors haven't been able to fix. Brutal.
