Steph Curry Continues To Prove He Could Be A Legit Pro Golfer If He Wasn't The Greatest Shooter In NBA History
The American Century Championship is a fun, annual event where celebrities and (mostly) athletes from other sports tee it up in a modified Stableford format for three rounds and 54 holes. It's incredible how good some of these guys are, not least among them is Golden State Warriors reigning NBA Finals MVP Steph Curry.
Following a rocky start to Friday's round in which he was 7 over par through 12 holes, Curry landed his approach to the par-4 13th on the back of the green, spun it back like a true world-class ball-striker, and canned it for an eagle. SICK. That's how you get off the mat and rally!
If it weren't for countless hours spent in the basketball lab perfecting the 3-point shot that's literally changed the sport forever, I'm of the firm belief that Steph Curry could compete on the Korn Ferry Tour, if not the PGA Tour. He's teed it up in professional events before and not completely embarrassed himself. At the very least, he could carve out a decent living on mini tours. No telling what his upside is.
Notably, Curry was also in action on the links at the Barstool Classic not long after closing out his fourth NBA championship, which was beyond cool.
I wouldn't hate it if Steph retired from the NBA in several years and just worked constantly at his golf game to see how far he could push it. Doubtful that'll happen. The best part about his hole-out from 97 yards today? He knows how to celebrate. Granted, you won't see many golfers with Steph's vertical leap, but most of them are so uncoordinated and don't know what to do with themselves when something suddenly amazing happens.
Keep doing your thing, Steph. You're a complete and utter ledge.
