Fantasy Football Legend Matthew Berry Is Leaving ESPN After 15 Years At The Company

WOW. A major announcement in the sports media world. Growing up, there was nothing like going through Matthew Berry's love/hate column and praying that your guys would end up in his "love" section and nowhere near his "hate" list. His positional rankings would alter my start/bench decisions more than anything else out there. And now, he will no longer be a part of ESPN's fantasy football coverage.

Now, we don't know what is next for Berry (a Syracuse grad), but this tweet seems like he will remain involved with fantasy football...

It's truly the end of an era at the network for a guy who had a major say in putting fantasy football on the map. I'm kind of geeking out here, but being someone who has always wanted a career in sports media, it was cool to see him on the list of Syracuse alumni who has made a big name for himself in this industry.

We'll eventually learn about his next step (assuming before the football season), but for now, it's hard to think of fantasy football without Matthew Berry coming to mind.
