The SEC Is Apparently Using a New Walker Hayes Song for the 2022 Football Season and It's Worse Than You Could Possibly Imagine

Note: The SEC deleted its tweet before I could even get this blog up. Bullying works.

This is so terrible, it actually made me dread the start of college football season — something I didn't think was possible. I don't know what the SEC's plans are regarding this song for the upcoming season, but I pray it scraps them right now. I can't do this for

I scrolled through more than 180 quote tweets and literally every single response was negative. Not one person was like, "You know what? This is alright."

I actually think Walker Hayes might be some sort of industry experiment to see how successful someone can be putting out the absolute worst music possible. He's most known for an atrocious song which was somehow commercially successful thanks to Applebee's — who was bullied into taking it off television — and teenage TikTok users and now he's made something far worse in collaboration with the biggest brand in collegiate sports. This guy just keeps failing upwards. He'll be revamping the Sunday Night Football intro before you know it.

I'm begging the Southeastern Conference to take a page out of the Applebee's playbook and nip this in the bud. That awful commercial was plastered on every college football game you could find during Week 1 and then we never saw it again. Listen to the will of the people.

I'm sure Walker Hayes is an outstanding person. But we need to put an end to this.
