I May Have Stumbled Upon The Secret To Eliminating A Golf Slice

I love to play golf, but I am horrendous. Not even in a funny way. I'll generally score in the low 120s and typically start off with an awful drive and hitting from outside the cart path. I can only play with friends because the last time I played with a stranger, they left in a rage screaming at me to stick to the driving range. I've taken their advice to heart and have been genuinely trying to get better for a few years now. I spent high three figs on lessons and actually felt I regressed some. I was just thinking too much and couldn't really get in a groove. But they lessons did teach me some key fundamentals, so not all bad.

One of the things my instructor worked with me a lot on was my slice. He gave me a lot of tips, but there wasn't a silver bullet where if I did this one thing, the stars would align and it'd go straight every time. A week and a half ago I played my first golf game of 2021 and actually played the round of my life. I shot a 102 (you probably heard about my birdie) and that was with slicing it off the tee 80% of the time. Lucky for me, my phone was spying on me.

When I was scrolling instagram on Saturday night I got targeted with this One Shot Slice Fix by Tiger Woods old swing coach Hank Haney. Now I do not watch the PGA outside of maybe 2-3 hours/year, but I obviously know who Riggs' best friend, Tiger Woods is. So I decided to watch the video. After watching testimonials for about 15 minutes I decided to just look it up on YouTube. The two minute video was surprising to say the least.

I decided to put those tips and tricks into practice. Yes, it looks a little funky (keep in mind, I was just trying basically the second step of the drill), but the ball went straight!

I hit a bunch more and they all went straight! A pretty interesting revelation I figured I'd share. I'm going to keep working with Tiger Woods my swing coach and report back down once I have more data.
