WATCH: We Had An All-Time Home Plate Collision During the Congressional Baseball Game

We need more hype around the Congressional Baseball Game, because it continually delivers electric moments. I would have watched all nine innings if I knew it was happening last night. Last year, we had the first out-of-the-park home run in 40 years and this year they followed it up with the best play at the plate I've seen since Buster Posey got his shit rocked and MLB outlawed fun.

Florida Congresswoman Kat Cammack came down the third base line like a freight train and delivered the boom on Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy, who somehow held onto the ball for the out. Pretty good relay from the Dems, too.

You don't see this kind of play in the big leagues anymore because the runner would be suspended for 10 games, which makes it all the better to see it in the Congressional Baseball Game. There's nothing like watching the legislators of this country get out on the field and lay it on the line for no reason other than the love of the game.

Despite Kammack not scoring on this play, the GOP went on to win 10-0. The Democrats had a good defensive lineup, but just couldn't get the bats going.
