People Are Mad Online Because Justin Fields Said That Players Hurt More Than Fans Because Fans Don't Put In Any Work

People are mad online about this clip. There's a word for that type of person and that word is moron. Sure, maybe Justin Fields could've said this in a more elegant way that shows an appreciation for a generationally deep fanbase that hasn't won a Super Bowl in almost 40 years and hasn't had a quarterback they can get excited about since, well, since the forward pass became a big part of football. And saying this to Bears fans the day after they realized that the forward pass is still not a big part of Bears football is poor timing.

Poor timing doesn't mean he's wrong. Fields, his teammates, and coaches do this as a job. They're sitting in meetings, working out, watching film, and doing a million other things to get ready for Sunday. We get ready for Sunday by running to the grocery store for a case of Miller Lite and the truly dedicated also pick up chuck roast for the beef kits baptized and made in the crock pot. Maybe scouring the internet for lines and odds and little nuggets to bet on the Bears. That is the extent of our work.

There are plenty of reasons to be critical of Fields and the Bears offense after last night. Let's focus on that instead of a getting into a who-cares-more-off with our QB1. Maybe Fields can put the work in and have the success that we all want him to have. Maybe Fields can acknowledge that he's a mercenary at this point and the reason fans feel like they care more is because they've been doing it for 40 years at this point and at the end of his rookie deal Fields would've done it for four. Having said that, this was a throw away comment and if you think he's wrong or that you put in more work well...you're an idiot.
