Ime Udoka Is Potentially Being Suspended For Having A "Consensual And Intimate" Relationship With A Female Member Of The Celtics Staff
This Woj Bomb hit at 10:35 at night which caused NBA Twitter to lose its mind. Everyone was trying to figure out what the hell happened before Shams came out of nowhere to drop the actual story.
HOLY SHIT IT WAS ACTUALLY TRUE!!!
Given that Woj did nothing but vaguely tweet about Ime's actions, the internet spent hours speculating as to what it possibly could have been to create this shit storm. Something bad enough that he had to be suspended but not bad enough to be fired. As Twitter does, everyone got their jokes off. We all just casually joked that maybe he was banging someone on the team, and as it turns out….Ime was banging someone on the team. Not great! At the same time, it's insane that the internet actually got this one right!
You can understand why the Celtics are taking this very seriously, I'm pretty sure it's not exactly kosher to have this sort of thing going on in your organization. Not only that, but who cheats on Nia Long?!?!?!?
The question now becomes, how long do you suspend a head coach for some consensual sex? 10 games? 15 games? 25 games? Is there precedent for something like this? Woj labeled it a substantial suspension, so what does that even mean now that we know what Ime did. The team clearly didn't think this was bad enough to fire him, so where do they draw the line?
I guess nobody told Ime you never shit where you eat. I can understand the temptation in the workplace. That's always existed for as long as there have been jobs. You spend a ton of time with someone every single day, shit can happen. But everyone also should know you're better off avoiding it completely. It almost always ends poorly. You have to be mentally strong enough to not do it. It's not easy, you're going to want to cave, but you have to stand strong. Ime, not that mentally strong apparently.

It's insane that this is all happening and that for once the internet jokes were real. I feel like I'm living in a simulation or something. What's next? Everything is on the table as far as I'm concerned. You could have given me 1000000000 guesses heading into the summer and I would never have predicted Ime Udoka was about to be suspended because he was fucking around on Nia Long. No chance in hell, yet here we are.
Celts Media Day is Monday. I'm thinking it's going to be pretty interesting.
