The Best Part Of Kansas RB Daniel Hishaw’s Highlight-Reel TD Was How High-Pitched FS1's HYPED Announcer Got On The Call
I'm in awe. Hell of a play by Daniel Hishaw Jr., yet that's not the main story here. I never thought Gus Johnson could be topped when it came to play-by-play hysterics on the college gridiron. Now I'm reevaluating everything I believed to be true.
His name is Eric Collins, according to my Big J Journalism research from the Google Machine. Eric Collins is an apex performance artist and you can't tell me any differently. He was fully present for Hishaw's incredible catch-and-run to the end zone, and as the Kansas tailback continued to plow through Duke defenders, the momentum was building for a SCREECHING high-register climax — AND COLLINS DEEEEEEEELIVERED.
"LOOK AT HISHAW Gy-OHHH!!!! WHAT KINDA SPEED DO YOU GOT, YOUNG MAN!?!? GET THERE! HE DOES!!"
I never thought a football game between two clear-cut basketball powerhouses would get me this fucking amped up but here we are. Eric Collins is an electric factory.
Per my on-the-fly Googling, Collins is the voice of the Charlotte Hornets as well. Unless there are two prominent broadcasters named "Eric Collins" and if that's the case I apologize. Bruh, if the Internet ain't lying to me, have Collins slide into the booth when the LaMelo and the Hornets get national TV spots. If they don't have many prime-time tip-offs, I call for an immediate increase. Don't have the NBA schedule handy. I'm all-in on the Eric Collins announcing bandwagon. Y'all better get aboard before we're full.
I will now be thinking of Joe Lo Truglio in I Love You, Man for the rest of the afternoon.
