Wake Up WIth "Hit Me Baby One More Time" On It's 24th Anniversary. The Video That Was The Millenial Man's Sexual Awakening

Time flies when you're feeling horny. 24 years ago today Britney Spears came into our lives. Burst onto the scene. 24 years. Incredible. We weren't fat. Her father hadn't hijacked her brain and money. It was a beautiful time. So significant to millennials that we could talk about it the way we talk about Jesus. BS and AS. Before Spears and After Spears. After Spears I was never the same. Something about coming home from school, flipping on TRL, and seeing that school girl outfit aroused every single sexual fantasy that I didn't even know I could have. You saw that video and the world kind of stopped. We all sort of looked like this

I actually looked like this

Just a little dough ball who got sweaty any time a girl would talk to him even if it was "hey you, can you move? I am trying to get to my locker". Britney Spears and this video made me obsessed with girls even if they wouldn't look at me for like another 7 years. By 8th grade, Spears made it impossible to get through the school day because girls started wearing shirts showing their mid drifts and the boys were done. So were wearing windbreaker pants and sweatpants to school.

Kids today have no idea what being a ball of hormones was like before the real internet. It was Spears videos, SI Swimsuit, Wild On E!, and Girls Gone Wild Informercials after you watched Howard Stern at night on E!. Racing home from the bus to catch a glimpse of Britney Spears on TRL was huge. You watched it in the basement alone. Snacks and homework could wait for the Queen.
