Congrats To The New York Mets And Their Totally Classy Fanbase On A Great Season Featuring 101 Regular Season Wins!

I'm not here to pile on or say #FrankWasRight! Nope! This is a pure gentleman's blog honoring the effort of a baseball team and their supporters in a hard fought season! Congratulations to the Mets and their totally classy fanbase on a great year! 101 wins is nothing to sneeze at! Head up! There's always next year and 1986!

An INCREDIBLE year, indeed! Now, I'm just a lowly Phillies fan whose oft injured and unstable squad went 5-14 vs the New York Metropolitans in 2022, including the game under former manager Joe Girardi in April which the Phillies led by 7 runs in the 9th inning.

So what do I know? Me no math right, but 87 wins is certainly less than 101 victories. OBVIOUSLY myself, along with all other fans of the Phillies are trashbags and should bow before the NYM in all their regular season glory. They did after all take down the NL East on June 1st. WOW!

Amazing! It's incredible that on June 1st we all just didn't take the great KFC's advice and Midas Whale go kill ourselves!

Unfortunately that's not how it worked out and the Mets not only lost the division, but got ONE HIT AND SHUT OUT at home in an elimination Wildcard game. Dang nabbit! I sure do hate it when awful things happen to a such upstanding fanbase. Maybe the Mets should've put in the Almighty BANK TELLER instead of Mad Max and The Bassitt Hound! Remember? The dude who pitched a few good innings vs. an injured Phillies team and Mets fans would use him as a talking point for weeks?

It's OK! The Bank Teller might not have been the answer to the Padres but certainly Buck had other steller managerial plans to help lead the Mets to victory, or at least more than 1 hit, vs the Padres in a do-or-die game!

Definitely not a pathetic, desperate move at all! His ears were SHINY! For sure that's why the Mets got shut out at home in an elimination game!

Also, s/o to the classy Mets fanbase who spent the entire 2nd half of the season rooting for teams to beat the Braves, and subsequently degrading said team/fans if they lost to Atlanta, instead of, you know, ACTUALLY BEATING THE FUCKING BRAVES THEMSELVES!

Oh well! There's always next year! Or 1986! Or in the Phillies case, literally tomorrow! Just take it from all-time Fightins great Tug McGraw...

PS - Yes I am fully aware the Phillies are not a better team than the Braves and it's going to be tough as all hell to win the NLDS. But you know what that's called? Reality. Not pure dickbagness in which the Mets fanbase exuded ALL season. Here's to a miracle series. Go Phils. #LOLMETS
