Not Only Is Jayson Tatum Playing Like An MVP, He's Also An MVP Dad After Shaking Off Ja Morant's Shit Talk To Drain 2 Free Throws So He Could Get Home To Tuck His Son Into Bed

The Celts continued to roll last night as they notched their 3rd straight win and East leading 4th road win by going into Memphis and handing the Grizzlies their first home loss on the season. That's a tough ass building to play in (30-11 last year), and I think most people considered it a pretty nice statement win opportunity. Would this team be able to continue to build on their momentum or would they take a step back?

At 7-3, the answer was build on their momentum thanks to their MVP candidate putting up a cool 39 points.

But that's not what I want to focus on in this blog. I want to focus on is what happened in the final seconds.

In a game where the Celts once led by 11 with around 3 minutes to go, they naturally made us all sweat that shit out with incredibly stupid turnovers and an inability to actually make a basket, which led to Jayson Tatum going to the free thrown line up 1 point and 2.2 seconds on the clock.

While they waited for the ref to give Tatum the ball, you could see Ja going over to Tatum and say some stuff to him in an attempt to ice him out. We saw Dame be successful with that tactic earlier this season, and I really wanted to know what Ja was saying.

If there's one thing you know about the Grizzlies is that they are top tier when it comes to talking shit, so I had to know. Well, Ja informed us after the game and Tatum's response was perfect

All Tatum did was drain both free throws, the Celtics held on, and Tatum was able to be a good father by tucking Deuce in once they got back to Boston. There's just something about Tatum's response that I find absolutely perfect. No shit talking, nothing crazy, just had to make sure he was there to put his kid to bed. That's called priorities as a teammate AND a dad. True MVP stuff from Tatum.
