An Ode To Jalen Brunson/Julius Randle For Making The Knicks Fun As Hell And Being The Best Duo The Team Has Had In Decades

I know us Knicks fans will tend to get, uh, excited a bit prematurely when it comes to the team. But not this time. This time it's legit. This time I'm confident in saying the Knicks are in fact good, fun as hell and it's all (mostly) thanks to the best 1-2 duo we've had in decades. This is what we all thought Melo/Stoudemire was going to look like. However, this time it's a lead guard who can close out games and a power forward who has changed his game and is proving everyone wrong who wanted to run him out of town.

You know what the Knicks haven't had in decades? Well, besides winning and hope? A point guard. A point guard who actually is good. That's Jalen Brunson. So, thanks NBA for taking away the 2nd round pick. I don't care. I'll give up another one for Jalen Brunson too if you ask politely. Jalen Brunson is doing everything and anything. He's one of the most clutch players in the league.

I've spent decades praying on hands and knees for a point guard. It's been about a half of a season and Brunson is already the best point guard we've had since .. Mark Jackson? I don't think that's an exaggeration. You can throw me a Chris Childs or something, sure. But Jalen Brunson is All-Star level good. Jalen Brunson is the major reason why the Knicks have the 9th best record in the NBA right now.

As much as I love Randle, we saw he needed a guard to initiate offense - especially in the playoffs. Well we just happen to have that now. And it's a bit of everyone too. Immanuel Quickley is vital to this team - don't you dare think about trading him. RJ Barrett is good. Mitchell Robinson knows his role. Everyone has their spot and has bought in.

So, yeah, we're excited again. We're not bing bonging around, we're just excited and it feels damn good. It feels so damn good to watch a point guard. It feels so damn good to sweat out 20-point collapses knowing they can still save themselves. It feels so damn good to watch a team win games.
