Mac McClung Saved The Dunk Contest And Showed Exactly What The NBA Needs To Do Every Year

That's a damn near flawless dunk contest by Mac McClung. Not exactly shocking. Anyone who remembered him at Gate City and winning dunk contests in high school knew this man could put on a show. He straight up had the best dunk contest since the LaVine/Gordon days. That's how good those dunks were.

I also know it's cliche to shit on the dunk contest every year. It stinks, the dunks aren't creative, it's not big names. Fine. But Mac laid out the blueprint. Every dunk was awesome. You don't need the four biggest names, it helps for sure. But you know what makes the dunk contest awesome? Four awesome dunkers. It's that simple. Get the four best dunkers in the league and put on a show.

Who gives a fuck what the broadcast was saying during this? I don't get why they were shitting on it all. Trey Murphy had good dunks. It was entertaining - which, you know, is the whole point. Sure, I'd love to see Ja, Sharpe, Mac and like Zion in this. That would be an unbelievable dunk contest. But that's the point. Just give me the 4 best dunkers at the time.

All you need to know of this being awesome was the players reaction each time Mac dunked - all completed on the first try too.

He had Giannis befuddled staring mouth wide open. That tells me more than Draymond just trying to shit on it. For as much as the dunk contest was whatever the last couple years, Mac brought it back. That was awesome.
