Kansas Trolled TCU After Their Win Last Night By Taking Back A Game Ball And Giveaway T-Shirts For TCU Fans

The last time TCU played Kansas they went. into Lawrence and throttled the Jayhawks. I mean THROTTLED.

It was the 2nd straight loss of what would be 3 straight for Kansas. Jayhawk nation was in a panic, worrying if this team was all smoke and mirrors. People began asking what the panic level was in Lawrence.

Apparently "road kill" was the term TCU used to cherish their win at Phogg. The Jayhawks clearly took note of that before last night's rematch at TCU. After gutting out a tight win despite a poor performance from Jalen Wilson, Kansas escaped with a 63-58 victory. When the game was done, they made it a point to go get back their game ball that TCU took from the first victory. They also managed to grab a couple of giveaway tshirts and make their own changes, adding a big W in Kansas red.

College Basketball needs more of this harmless rivalry stuff. College sports in general. Getting fired up over a game ball or managing to swipe a t-shirt is the psychological stuff that fires up a team and makes the game that much more exciting. Getting amped up to go "take back the ball" like it's a 16th century warrior storming a castle to win back their freedom is ridiculous from  afar but in the moment, and between the lines makes all the sense in the world. Of course you have to go win back that ball, and defend yourself.

When I played college football, our coach said that the opposing team ripped down the logo we all touched in a doorway before we exit to the field. "Punch in" was the term. As in punch into work, or get ready to play. The way it went was guys went down for specialists, then everyone went down to stretch, then everyone came up for a pregame speech. He showed us it ripped off before the pregame speech. We were ready to run through a wall. Motivation tactic. It wasn't until hours after the game (which we lost anyway) that a guy on our team who was hurt told us coach staged the whole thing. No one on the opposing team had ripped it down let alone touch it. That never bothered me. He saw an angle to motivate us and he did it. That's very similar to Kansas and TCU last night of taking back game balls, and having a laugh over tshirts. College sports needs more of those motivation tactics, it only makes the games that much more exciting.

PS- Bill Self is a confirmed robot. The Jayhawks may be in position to get the #1 overall seed , after losing so much talent. Insane.
