CBB IN 60: San Diego State. Florida Atlantic. Miami. UConn. The Final Four Is Set.
Today’s CBB in 60 recap and today’s outfit of the day are sponsored by Express!
The last two slots in this year’s Final Four have been secured. First up, the San Diego State Aztecs! SDSU held off Creighton, 57-56 in Sunday’s Elite Eight game to head to the biggest stage in college basketball for the first time ever.
It was a dramatic end of the game to say the least, as Creighton’s Ryan Nembhard fouled SDSU’s Darrion Trammel, who hit the game-winning free throw to send the Aztecs to Houston.
SDSU now takes on FAU in Saturday’s Final Four Game 1. It’s the Mountain West against Conference USA… mid-major basketball, BABY!
In the late game, Miami came back from 13 points down in the 2nd half to eliminate the Texas Longhorns. Senior Jordan Miller was the MVP in this one, 27 points, and a perfect 13 for 13 at the free throw line - ice in his veins!
Head Coach Jim Larranaga has now taken two teams to the Final Four in his career - these Miami Hurricanes, along with George Mason back in 2006.
So in Game 2 of the Final Four, it’ll be The U, taking on UConn. Can’t wait for that one.
