BREAKING: Buccaneers Star Linebacker Devin White Has Requested A Trade

Bucs star LB Devin White has requested a trade from the team. Reasons at the time are not known and this is rather surprising news.

The former #5 overall pick has been an impact player since he stepped onto the field in 2019.

He's transformed his game over the years and is an incredible blitzer from the Linebacker position and has amassed 20.5 sacks in his four seasons for the Buccaneers.

And in the Super Bowl season of 2020 he truly broke out.

And he peaked in Super Bowl LV where he finished with 12 tackles, 2 TFLs and 1 INT.

His greatest strength is his closing speed, which is rare. He makes tackles even great Linebackers don't regularly make.

So how will things go from here? Why did he request a trade? Does he just want a new deal and to stay in Tampa? Did management refuse to give him a new deal?

He is entering his 5th year option and is set to make $11.7 million dollars this season and he wants a big deal. He said as much four years ago.

Is he worth it? Right now, at this very moment, I'd say no. But this season is telling. If he can be consistent in coverage and play more disciplined that absolutely he'd be worth it. But we need to see it on a more consistent basis. So I'm hopeful this season plays out and we can see after this year. But we may not have that much time…
