Welcome To The New Era: The NFL Is Reportedly Going To Show One Playoff Game Exclusively On Peacock
I hate this, it might be the old man in me, but I hate this so damn much. Listen, we already have a game where players get slimed in the end zone. That's fun and all because it brings back old memories. Plus everyone has that channel. But this? Do you know how difficult it is going to be to explain how to log-in on Peacock to my parents? Do you know how many parents are going to lose their shit if their team is playing in this game?
I know the answer is money. But there are things that just don't need to be touched - the NFL playoffs being one of them. We live in a world with expansion. Fine. More playoff football and games mattering late in the season. Great. I'm fine with that. But I don't want to add a streaming game to the rotation.
Plus, imagine if your Internet goes out that day. It happens more than you think. You get delayed or buffered or whatever. You'd lose your mind. Just picture it now and you'll get irrationally angry. No doubt though if the Lions make the playoffs this is where the NFL will put them. I feel bad for any fan that has to live through this.
There's something comforting about knowing the channels. I know exactly what time and what numbers to hit every single week. Now I gotta remember to switch inputs to stream. No thank you. Call me simple, but sometimes the good old days are what we had. I'm all for trying new shit, but just give me the comfort of sitting my ass in my recliner and getting upset about something stupid on the channels I know. I don't want to click over to FOX and realize the game is actually on Peacock.
I know we're already doing it with the regular season, but we're talking playoffs man. Playoffs!
