I Officially ACCEPT Dave's Challenge From June 21, 2016 To Play Him Heads Up
Every so often I remember that Dave challenged me to play heads up in poker like, 8 years ago. I've brought the subject up on Twitter to him a few time, but because I'm mostly irrelevant at Barstool now and he's very wealthy, I get ignored. But today I was feeling very hyped up from the million dollar cash game and the WSOP starting this week that I decided to find where exactly he challenged me. I thought it was a Tweet or a Rundown, but turns out on June 21, 2016 he wrote a blog about playing me heads up.
Some guy emailed me willing to stake me to play Dave. This was 2016, I was making $50k a year and Dave was betting $50k on afternoon Pirates vs Royals spring training games. I had NO money at all. But now I have a little more money to my name so I officially ACCEPT Dave's challenge to play me heads up, on stream.
We can use the beautiful PokerGo studio in Vegas. We can use the Hustler studio in LA. We can build our own studio at any of the PENN casinos. I don't care where, I just wanna play!
Now, again, I don't expect it to happen, even if he did say "I'm 1,000% in". They teach you in blogging school that blogging is binding, but what am I gonna do, show up in a ski mask and demand it? I'm just a fuckin' crippled ass washed up blogger after all, digging ditches on one leg.
I do think we should do this, obviously. We'll stream it. Numbers will be big. I'll put $10k up, unbacked. I know that's nothing to him, but I don't know if playing like my $10k to his $100k or something would make sense? I'm fine playing for whatever, I just think we should do this.
Last night's game had over 50k watching the entire night concurrently, peaking at nearly 60,000 viewers. People are clamoring for poker. We should give people what they want. I accept, Davey, I accept your challenge!
