Amazon Announces A Brand New Series of The Office Will Be Filming Soon

The speculation has been rife and it was true. An Australian version of The Office is indeed happening. 

If there’s anyone in the world who could do cringe comedy, it’s Australia.

So, when you marry the Australian sense of humour with the awkward comedy of The Office, you may very well get a combustible mix of the ultimate stomach-twisting, ye-gods TV show.

That’s right. It’s true. Amazon Prime Video is making an Australian version of The Office, and it has the blessing of Ricky Gervais.

And in a twist, the David Brent/Michael Scott office manager will be a woman named Hannah Howard, to be played by Felicity Ward, an Australian comedian and actor who has appeared on Wakefield, The Inbetweeners, Spicks and Specks and Thank God You’re Here, as well as on the comedy circuit.

I'm not sure how to feel about this. I, like every other basic bitch 35-45 year old, love the office. Over the course of my lifetime, there is likely no other show I have watched more. I watched it over and over and over. Every night, when things were winding down, Id throw on the office and it would be the soundtrack of my sleep. 

There were scenes Id laugh out loud at every single time. I still love the bloopers. My goodness, the bloopers. 

If you can watch those bloopers for 45 seconds and not grin your dick off, we are not the same. 

That being said, Im not sure about this Australian version of The Office. I mean, we already have the shitty -albeit original- very of The Office that has an English accent. Isn't that enough? Australians talk pretty close to the Brits so I don't really understand the appeal. But, I might give it a watch. I'll be very harsh on my reviews though. There's no denying that but will it be good? Im not sure if it's for me but I know that each person is entitled to their own proclivities. May a thousand blossoms bloom as far as I'm concerned but I ain't gonna spend any more time on it because, in the meantime, every 90 days a person in North Queensland is torn to pieces by a crocodile.
