Shocking Video Shows Seagull Absolutely Manhandling A Squirrel And Will Completely Change The Way People Look At Birds

This is the second time this week I've seen a bird swallowing something that shouldn't be swallowed by a bird... or at least that's what I have thought for forty years. Everyone knows that birds eat fish. Duh. Those fuckers swoop in and will snag a fish outta the water without a second thought. It's like it comes naturally to birds. They just do it. One minute you see a nice small mouth bass swimming near the dock and then boom. Bird city with a fish in its mouth.

I can see a snake being prey for a bird. I know it's crazy as hell but I can. They have many of the same characteristics as fishes. (Fishes is correct because it is implying several species of fish). Snakes have also evolved to hang out in wet environments and have been adapted to enjoy some leisurely swimming. Pretty cool. I too love a good dip. So yeah, a bird eating a snake is jarring but understandable.

Fish. Snakes. Fine. Whatever. But a squirrel is totally different. A bird eating a squirrel gives me significant pause because I had no idea that fish even liked furry things. Did you? Am I just out here on an island not knowing that birds ate rodents and rodent-adjacent things? I can't be, right? I mean, it wouldn't be a shock if I was an idiot but did yall know that?

After all, I didn't know that squirrels yelled until last year. My world flipped upside down when I saw a squirrel scream. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't talk. I couldn't communicate my intense fears. Speaking of squirrel screams, did this squirrel scream in pain or was it already dead when it got swallowed up? I hope it was already dead. If not, how did the seagull defeat this squirrel? So many questions with so few answers. Fuck.

After the last couple of years, I'm ready to admit something. I have so much to learn about both squirrels and seagulls. Both are truly fascinating creatures that we are lucky to share this earth with. When we all can appreciate that, maybe some of our divisions will disappear.
