There Are Reports That Sonar Has Picked Up "Banging Sounds" That Could Be The Missing Titanic Submarine

We are now on the 3rd day of the missing Titanic submarine and the first glimmer of hope, as there have been reports of "banging noises" from the area search teams are looking:

BBC - A Canadian P-3 plane - using sonar buoys - heard underwater sounds which US Navy experts are now analysing.

Crews have been exploring the source of the noise on Wednesday in a remote part of the North Atlantic.

There may be as little as a day's worth of oxygen left on the vessel if it remains intact.

The US Coast Guard did not provide further details on what the noises could be. According to an internal US government memo seen by several media outlets, banging was heard at 30-minute intervals on Tuesday.

Now, nobody really knows what this means. It comes from a leaked "internal US government memo seen by several media outlets" which is about as unsubstantiated as it gets. But nonetheless, it's better to have some hope than no hope at all.

If you've been following the story, you would know the details of the journey and the sub itself as all a bit sketchy. I do think it's weird people are like "well fuck em, they're billionaires" because when did we stop loving exploration? We praise the explorers of yesteryear for their bravery and for discovering new worlds, but now poo-poo these guys simply because they have the means to explore the depths of the oceans? Seems contradictory to me.

Maybe that's another blog actually. I'd need to do some research though- were Columbus, Magellan, and Cartier mocked or were they called heroes and geniuses for going places nobody has gone before? I find the whole thing fascinating- when it was the 1500s there was actually new land and continents to find, now the "explorers" of modern time are super rich guys, because the only things left to explore are space and the oceans. Does this make them fraudulent, or should we sorta be like "fuck yeah, I'm glad someone is using their money to push the boundaries of what we have seen and discovered". I prefer the latter.

I will say though, the submersible being very shoddy and not safe at all is indefensible.

Today should be the day we learn more about where the sub is and what happened. More as we hear it from Barstool Sports HQ.
