Welcome To The One Man Electric Show: Elly De La Cruz Just Stole Second, Third, And Home On Two Pitches
We say it practically everyday, but it's laugh out loud funny how good Elly De La Cruz is at baseball. If you watch this man on any given day you have a chance of seeing something that no one else is capable of. He's a legitimate video game player, but one you create and max out every attribute on after playing non-stop for a few weeks. On top of that all he's got great instincts and plays the game with amazing feel. The Reds just have that guy playing for them every day and they're in first place because of him.
On Saturday his magic act began with a great piece of hitting to drive in a RISP with two outs while behind in the count 0-2. That gave the Reds the lead late in a game against a team on their tails for the division lead. The scary thing is he wasn't done there. Elly didn't want to waste much time out there so he went on to steal second, third, and home in the span of two pitches. Just a mad man painting his chaotic masterpiece.
Electric. It's an overused word on this website, but the man is nothing short of electric. I got a funny feeling there's gonna be an influx of Dominican baseball players in about 20 years with the name Elly.
Love watching the Brewers infielders all point to him as he started racing home as their pitcher remained oblivious.
Like when you were young and the shitty coach's son was on the mound fucking around not knowing what's going on, costing the team countless runs. Except this is the major leagues. Amazing baseball IQ from Elly to know his elite speed and take advantage.
If you're on the bump and you notice your teammates doing this with Elly on the bases, it's too late.
Imagine following on gamecast and just seeing this. You'd assume it was a glitch. No one steals three bases in an inning.
No one except Elly. Protect this man at all costs. What a run race it's gonna be for the NL ROY between him and Corbin Carroll. It's probably Carroll's to lose with his body of work, but I'm also not doubting Cruz with anything. You do that and you'll look the Brewers pitcher today.
