ALL STAR BREAK BLOG: The White Sox Fucking STINK
I want to start with the good:
Luis Robert. That's where the list starts and where the list ends. He's the only good thing about this organization right now; yes, there are other good happenings around the organization that should be included, like the ballpark food - which is top tier - but in order to really hammer home how fucked up this organization is from top on down, I wanted to start and end my "good" portion of the blog with Lu and Lu only.
Dude's on his way to a top 5 MVP finish should he stay healthy. Here are his numbers at the season's mid-point:
Awesome stuff. Robert is a stud. Glad he's on the Sox, even though they'll probably deal him in his prime, because that's what losing organizations do. Deal primo players to serious organizations. It'll be awesome watching him in the Derby tonight, but I'm sure he'll start the 2nd half on a 5-83 stretch because of how bad it fucks him up. That's just what happens with the White Sox.
That's where it starts and ends though. Luis Robert.
Here we are: The All Star break. If you asked me where the Sox would be at the All Star break 2023 2 years ago to the day, I'd say they would be CRUISING to their 3rd division title in 3 years and that they'd be one of the premier teams in all of baseball:
That didn't happen. This team absolutely fucking sucks and every single wart that the organization has was amplified x1000 over this first half. Let's bullet point them out:
- Poor ownership
- A front office that has been completely incapable of using their $180MM budget in their large market to bully the "poor" flyover state AL Central teams
- A 26 man with AAAA players galore, over paid/under performing vets, injury risks across the board, and players that cannot make an adjustment at the plate for their goddamn lives
- Poor drafting
- Poor player development
- Poor managerial hiring
- Poor trading

and on and on it goes. In fact, ya know what? Fuck it! Let's queue up Berto's rant:
I've said it before and I'll say it again: that was the single greatest call in to a sports radio station in the history of sports radio. I'm sorry Rico Bosco, this call betters yours from the Super Bowl show after the Penn Deal a few years back.
Berto nailed EVERYTHING about this organization. There was not one lie or even embellishment told. It doesn't matter if I'm a top dog like Jerry Reinsdorf, Kenny Williams, Rick Hahn or Mike Shirley or a dude serving my drunk ass a Miller Lite on the concourse, if I'm listening to that rant I can't do anything but agree with every word of it. They fucked this up completely and totally.
We, as fans, were hoodwinked. The rebuild was a ruse, a ploy, a plot, a plan, a cherade, a conspiracy, a sham. We have been conned, hoodwinked, bamboozled, flim-flammed, had the wool pulled over our eyes even!
On social media, I've largely kept quiet about the White Sox over the last 3ish weeks. I like to be upbeat and positive for the most part; it's impossible to do so with the White Sox. Since I rarely have anything nice to say about them, I rarely say anything at all. It's sad.
I don't know how they fix this, but I do know that the same 3 people cannot be in charge of trying to fix it. They started tearing this thing down in winter of 2016. It's summer of 2023. I am of the opinion that having 6.5 years allotted to a front office to build a winner is more than enough time.
This ain't a winner though. It's a brutal and pathetic organization that is mired in failure. It's not even mediocre anymore, it's just bad and change has to be made. ACTUAL change. Not whatever the fuck they successfully sold me and the vast majority of other Sox fans back in 2016.

It sucks that it's like this. Thank god my other team is right around the corner. Oh wait! Northwestern Football sucks too and has some shit of their own going on.
Just shoot me in the fucking face. Check us out on the Midshow tomorrow and Thursday to hear me bitch about my teams some more:
