This Weekend's Yankees Series In Baltimore Was HUGE For The Orioles

Thanks for coming, Yankees. Hope you enjoyed your stay in Baltimore? It was an incredible weekend in Baltimore with the Yankees in town. Started Friday with the 1-0 instant classic that ended with a Tony Taters walk-off in the bottom of the 9th. Saturday the Yankees got their revenge with a decent whooping. Judge hit a 446 foot bomb, Stanton torched one over Walltimore at 115 MPH, they took game 2. Fast forward to game 3 with the Orioles on ESPN for Sunday Night Baseball for the first time in 5 years and it was a complete script flip from Saturday. Orioles torched Luis Severino who I am begging to have enshrined into the Orioles Hall of Fame. I truly love the guy, he's become a BP pitcher when he faces the Orioles.

It was 6-0 before I even got to my seat last night, they absolutely bullied Sevy who used to have their number. Now he's arguably may be the worst pitcher in baseball, Alek Manoah thinks this guy stinks. It was incredible to watch him just meltdown out there. Every ball was scorched off of him, every single one. Adley had 2 hits in the 1st inning, the O's batted around, it was perfect. Every pinstripe jersey with a last name on it went super quiet from there. Made the night much more enjoyable.

Crowd was going nuts, and Ravech with a great call "Birdland is going bananas!". Game was over from there. The Yankees looked like they didn't even want to be there. It was also WILD that the Orioles struck out 18 Yankees last night. 18 out of 27 outs were strikeouts, but thank god Aaron Boone said this….

So how was the play, Mr. Lincoln? Just a great quote by an all time bozo here. I hope the Yankees keep Boone around for ever. Last night really kind of signaled to the Yankees and a national audience that this team is different. These aren't the Orioles of the past 4-5 years that were dog shit. This team is a problem and they showed everyone why this weekend. Stadium was PACKED, Pickles was packed, I saw Yankee fans fighting EACHOTHER at Pickles and it was incredible. That is just the kind of year they are having.

They aren't scared of Gerrit Cole, they aren't scared of the Yankees, they will go toe-to-toe with anyone now. People will point out "well they should be good because they were bad for so long and drafted high every year." Ask the Tigers how easy it is to consistently draft high and hit on picks. You still have to hit on your picks when you're picking that high and the Orioles have done that. Now comes the conversation of the trade deadline.

All that being said, with how great of a weekend it was in Baltimore….the team needs help on the bump. I truly believe this offense can win a World Series, the offense can. The pitching staff and bullpen outside of Fuji and Bautista can not. They need a few more arms….but they are flying off the shelf. Montgomery would have been perfect, Jordan Hicks would have been great, I don't think the Padres move Hader or Snell either. It basically comes down to Justin Verlander, Dylan Cease, and Eduardo Rodriguez. The Orioles have the farm system to get ANYONE, so I'm truly hoping they go out and send prospects for Dylan Cease. Give me the Cease man. Solidify this rotation and let's go deep into October. Let's fucking do it.

Just an awesome atmosphere in the city this weekend. Place was buzzing, Birds scoring 10000 runs before getting an out, National TV audience. Perfect, everything was perfect. And the fact that it was the Yankees too, just putting their tail in-between their legs and not saying a word. God damnit does that feel good. O's sitting at 64-41 with the easiest remaining schedule in the AL East. Let's go get an arm and have some fun. I love this team.
