Tom Izzo Saying That Chris Holtmann Will Lead Ohio State To A National Championship In Five Years Is Clearly Izzo Trying To Trick The Buckeyes Into Keeping Holtmann Around Because He's So Easy To Beat

"You're a big part of the consistency and you did not crumble last year through a tough 5-6 weeks. That is maybe the best thing you did and you just won't realize it until four or five years from now when you're in a Final Four winning a national championship. You'll look back at that one and say 'wow.'" - Tom Izzo to Chris Holtmann

Listen Tom Izzo, I know what you're doing and you ain't slick. Four or five years from now when Holtmann makes a Final Four and wins a National Championship? Do they even have middle school basketball national championships?

The fact of the matter is that The Ohio State University has the brand and resources to dominate in basketball, and for whatever reason, Chris Holtmann has not led them to do so. He has made it to the Sweet 16 a grand total of ZERO times while in Columbus. And for that reason, along with the fact that the team quit on him last year and lost 14 of 15 games, he is officially on the hot seat. Folks, we finished fucking 13th in the Big Ten. I honestly didn't even know there were 13 teams in the Big Ten. So now Tom Izzo is comes out here and tries to throw his weight around and butter up Holtmann so the Buckeye fans and administration keep him around even longer? Michigan State held us to 41 points last February AT HOME, which is the lowest point total the Buckeyes have scored in 27 years. And now Izzo gives his vote of confidence to Chris Holtmann. SEEMS FISHY. Don't fall for it, Gene Smith / Jim Tressel.

Clearly I wanted Holtmann gone after last year, but he's back this year with a few returning starters, some nice transfers, and a pretty good recruiting class. Forget 13th in the conference, are we seriously going to keep him around if we're outside the top 5 Big Ten teams? Miss the tournament? Don't even make the Sweet 16? This is OHIO STATE! Jay Wright comes into Columbus and has us in the Final Four within three years. Kinda want another under .500 season so we can throw the bag at him and make that happen.
