Travis Kelce's Completely Fine Ex-Girlfriend Unfollows Brittany Mahomes Despite Years Of Honest Friendship

Oh man. This whole Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce-Brittany Mahomes-entire Chiefs organization-NFL marketing department LOVE POLYGON keeps adding sides. The big news out of the weekend was that Taylor Swift and her famous friends threw a Make-A-Wish invite to Brittany Mahomes for dinner, even though Brittany seems to be in fine health. Most of us who are following this saga with hawkish vigilance thought wow, how very grand of Taylor.

Not Kayla Nicole though. She's Travis Kelce's on-again, off-again ex-girlfriend. How's she feeling towards Brittany Mahomes—a woman she once called a dear friend, for whom she stood as a bridesmaid at their wedding in Hawaii? She's decidedly, publicly OFF.

NY Post- Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole unfollowed former close friend Brittany Mahomes on social media after the latter was spotted having a girls’ night out with Taylor Swift.

Nicole also unfollowed Brittany’s husband – and Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate – Patrick Mahomes as well as his brother, Jackson Mahomes.

However, Brittany, her husband and her brother-in-law all still follow Nicole on the social media platform.

Several fans were quick to point out the social media diss, which came after Brittany and Swift — Kelce’s rumored girlfriend — were photographed grabbing dinner with Sophie Turner and Blake Lively on Friday in New York City.

Bitter bitter chicken dinner! What a move by Kayla Nicole! She could easily have MUTED Brittany, Patrick, AND JACKSON? (Poor kid, didn't deserve that stray.) But she chose the hard unfollow, which she must have calculated would send seismic ripples through the zeitgeist. Brittany, you've been put on notice: if you attend dinner with Taylor Swift, Sophie Turner, and Blake Lively, you are firmly planting your flag in the opposing team's endzone. I, Kayla Nicole, will no longer follow you on Instagram despite the fact that I was a bridesmaid at your wedding and an attendee at both your bachelorette party and your bridal shower.

It's sad to see such a strong friendship come apart at the seams like this. Asking someone to be a bridesmaid or a groomsman is a massive honor. These are people you turn to in tough times; people you designate to look after your children if you die unexpectedly from carbon monoxide poisoning—the silent assassin. I haven't been able to find a copy of Patrick and Brittany's guardianship contingency plans anywhere online, but I think we can all assume that if Kayla Nicole had been listed on there, she isn't anymore. That's just what you get when you unfollow your friends on Instagram these days. What a shortsighted move from Kayla.

Kayla also posted a "cryptic" IG story, where she quoted Justin Laboy, saying:

"For the ones JUST watching to see if I'm going to make it… I AM."

This could mean so many things. But out of respect for Kayla Nicole, I think we take this at face value. She's going to live on. She will make it. Despite the world of betrayal and hurt being thrown at her, she will continue to rise, dress, breathe, and… uhm… clock in for work each day. Because that's what Kayla Nicoles do—they keep on keepin' on.

Too bad Brittany Mahomes won't be able to see it though.
