The Smoking Gun Of The Taylor Swift/Austin Reaves Dating Rumors Has Been ID'd: A Clippers Employee Started The Entire Thing From A Burner Account

[Source] - Stories about a potential Reaves-Swift romance began springing up in Yahoo, Seventeen, the New York Post and Sports Illustrated in June. According to Google Trends, from June 4-10, the search terms "Austin Reaves and Taylor Swift" went from having a popularity score of zero to the maximum of 100. 

All of that was set into motion by a 24-year-old who fired off a tweet from a burner account on June 5 to fabricate that the two were spotted at a bar. But this person wasn't just some random internet troll — it was an LA Clippers employee. 

Reaves himself broke out in laughter when FOX Sports told him who started the rumor that followed him all summer.

"Woooooooow," he said, drawing the word out for a few seconds. "That's crazy. That's actually funny."

"Since I'm working for the Clippers, I didn't want to tweet it off my main, so I tweeted it off there," Fahimullah, a Lakers fan, told FOX Sports last week of his burner account. 

This is how you do investigative reporting. Well done all around and frankly people in Journalism school right now should be learning from this exact story. The whole Austin Reaves/Taylor Swift dating rumor took over social media like it says above. People couldn't stop talking about it. Luckily we were able to see right through the bullshit when it broke: 

But now we know how it all started. A 24-year old person who works for the Clippers but is a Lakers fan. This instantly makes me question everything. First off, why would you work for the Clippers in social media if you're a Lakers fan? I get working in sports is tough and you take whatever you can get. But you can't be working for someone who shares the same floor as your team. There's gotta be sabotage somewhere. 

The last thing you can do is feel bad. You started it! 

"I felt kind of bad once it started blowing up and people started talking to Austin about it," Fahimullah said. "I was like, 'Damn.' I felt like he shouldn't have to be answering these questions. I really felt bad."

In what world do you think Austin Reaves is annoyed about having to answer questions if he's dating Taylor Swift? That's called brand awareness. I know Austin Reaves has a girlfriend, but we're talking about the fakest rumor of all time up there with sharks floating in flooded streets. Think about the rise of Austin Reaves. He went from Wichita State to Oklahoma to undrafted to starting for the Lakers to Team USA to Taylor Swift rumors to now being called of a Big 3. That's ridiculous. The Taylor Swift rumor is basically just part of this whole story now. 

Here's what I need though. I need Steve Ballmer to find about this and put a camera in his face. First, explain to Steve Ballmer what a burner account is and then let him know a worker is a Lakers fan. You wanna talk about a dude who will start screaming and giving us content? That's Steve Ballmer. 

I want to say rivalry reignited here, but we got a mole situation. Like I said, you can't be a Lakers fan working for the Clippers. They gotta tighten up over there in Ballmer world.
