Forecaster Frank NFL Picks Week 7: Trevor May's Favorite Football Prognosticator

More mediocrity as I continue to have picks that should be faded at 8-7; overall, I am 40-51-2.

Thursday Night

  • Jax +1 (o/u 40)
  • Jaguars 20 Saints 16

The Saints have not been consistent, especially on offense. The Jaguars, meanwhile, appear to be hitting their stride with three straight wins. Look for the Jaguars to get one on the road.

Sunday at 1

  • Bal -3 (o/u 42)
  • Ravens 24 Lions 20

Two teams that have played well meet, each looking to show they are genuine contenders. The Lions have fans in Detroit dreaming of a long playoff run, as they are the top team in the NFC North. The Ravens have had two losses, but every game they have played has been close. This one will be more of the same, as the home field edge is the difference.

  • LV -3 (o/u 37.5)
  • Raiders 23 Bears 6

Both quarterbacks are questionable after suffering injuries last week. While Jimmy Garoppolo is progressing for Vegas, Justin Fields could be heading toward surgery. Even with Fields, the Bears would have a tough time winning this game.

  • Ind +3 (o/u 39)
  • Colts 16 Browns 13

The Browns' defense has impressed everyone in the NFL as they shut down the 49ers last week for an upset win at home. The Colts have shut down Anthony Richardson for the season and will move forward with Gardner Minshew. Look for the Colts to come out hungry, as the Browns have a letdown.

  • Buf -8.5 (o/u 41)
  • Bills 37 Patriots 13

The Patriots dynasty is a mere memory, as fans in Foxboro are now focused on Draft Day. The Patriots have been especially bad at home, with the Lighthouse sending out an SOS. The Bills will come in and win this one going away.

  • NYG +2 (o/u 39)
  • Giants 17 Commanders 13

With Daniel Jones not cleared for contact, it seems likely that Tyrod Taylor will get another start for the Giants. He played well in Buffalo. Look for him to get the Giants a much-needed win at home, starting a quarterback controversy in New York.

  • TB -2.5 (o/u 38)
  • Buccaneers 24 Falcons 20

Both teams are coming off disappointing losses heading into a battle for supremacy in the mediocre NFC South. Tampa has played better overall and will get the win as Baker Mayfield leads the way.

Sunday Late Games

  • Pit +3 (o/u 44)
  • Steelers 20 Rams 16

Understanding the complex mathematical formulas is easier than picking Steelers games in 2023. You just don't know what team will show up. Expect a crowd of Terrible Towels in LA, as the Steelers' defense comes out hungry to get the win, as the loss of Kyren Williams will have an impact on the Rams.

  • Sea -8 (o/u 44.5)
  • Seahawks 30 Cardinals 13

That peskiness the Cardinals showed early in the season seems to be waning, as the lack of talent on the roster shows that they are one of the worst teams in the NFL. This one should be an easy win for the Seahawks, as Devon Witherspoon has another big day on defense.

  • GB -1 (o/u 45)
  • Packers 30 Broncos 17

This could be the last ride for Russell Wilson, whose struggles in Denver have become a punchline. Jordan Love has also struggled in his first season with the Packers, but with the Denver defense being horrendous, expect Love to have a great game.

  • LAC (+5.5 o/u 48)
  • Chiefs 27 Chargers

Expect more frustration for the Chargers as they battle the Chiefs but again fail at the end of the game. The Chiefs have been winning but have struggled to cover the number. This will be a continuation of that trend.

Sunday Night

  • Mia +2 (o/u 52)
  • Dolphins 38 Eagles 34

On a Sunday with a bunch of dull matchups, this will be the week we all are waiting all day for Sunday Night. This could be a shootout, as the high-octane Dolphins continue their record pace on offense, scoring an upset in Philadelphia, with Tyreek Hill continuing his quest for the first 2K receiving season.

Monday Night

  • SF -7 (o/u 44)
  • 49ers 34 Vikings 16

After a disappointing loss in Cleveland, expect the 49ers to bounce back as Christian McCaffery and Deebo Samuel appear ready to go. For the Vikings, it will be more frustration as primetime Kirk Cousin continues to sing, "I Don't Like Mondays."
