Did Ohio State Have A Spy Within Michigan's Boosters Named Jim Stapleton?

This Michigan story keeps getting weirder and weirder.  It has a little bit of everything at this point.  The Marine Corps, football, espionage, the Washington Post, angry boosters, and now a shadowy 3rd party law firm that hacked all Michigans computer servers to collect evidence against Michigan and present it to the NCAA before the NCAA even knew about any of this controversy.

The cliff notes version of what happened supposedly at thus point is that a powerful Michigan booster named Jim Stapleton went rogue and started leaking stuff to the NCAA because he despises Jim Harbaugh and wanted to get him fired.

This Jim Stapleton guy was also apparently on the Minnesota Vikings board of directors and blackballed Harbaugh when he applied for that job.  I'm not sure if that's what sparked his hatred for Harbaugh, but whatever the case may be the rumor is that he has made it his mission to destroy Harbaugh even if it meant destroying the program in the process.

AA - Appearing on 97.1 The Fan in Columbus’ Morning Juice on Wednesday, New York Times bestselling author John U. Bacon discussed the ongoing scandal in Ann Arbor. In doing so, Bacon shared his belief that a lot of the information about the NCAA’s investigation into the matter is coming from a Michigan booster named Jim Stapleton, who has an ongoing beef with Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh.

“They’re getting leaks like crazy from the NCAA. Watch a guy named Jim Stapleton,” Bacon said. “Jim Stapleton is a Michigan alum who blackballed Harbaugh when he was [interviewing] with the Minnesota Vikings because [Stapleton] was on the board for the Minnesota Vikings. He now got himself onto the NCAA Infractions Committee and he hates Jim Harbaugh. It doesn’t matter who the source is or if it’s right or wrong. If Michigan did it, they’ll still pay a price. That’s not the point. You can’t kill the messenger. But as far as the leaking goes, I would guarantee you that’s where it’s coming from.”

This is obviously a huge red flag for anybody with a brain.  I mean am I really suppose to believe that this guy Jim Stapleton, who graduated from Michigan and by all accounts has dedicated his life to Michigan football, is willing to burn the entire house down at the height of our power just because he doesn't like Jim Harbaugh?  That makes no sense.  Michigan has finally reclaimed our rightful spot in the college football hierarchy.  We have total and compete domination of the Big 10.  We bully Ohio State every single year.   And this guy was not only willing to throw that away but he actually led the espionage campaign against us?

It just makes no sense.  I couldnt piece it together for the life of me. And then I heard that Jim Stapleton was also a huge Brady Hoke fan and also tried to undermine Rich Rod the second he got hired.   Then it all made sense. Let me just remind people that Brady Hoke didn't wear a headset on the sideline. Let that sink in.  A head football coach who didn't wear a headset.   And this is the guy that Jim Stapleton fought to keep?

And now that Harbaugh has turned the program around he has led an underground rebellion to get rid of him?   Hmm it's almost like Jim Stapleton doesn't want Michigan to win at all.   That his only role is to ensure we have incompetent head coaches and the second one becomes good he intervenes to eliminate them.

Keep in mind this is college football.  Nothing meets the eye.   Urban Meyer has already said he would do anything to win at Ohio State. Use murderers, convicts, racists, etc.    Well what if for all these years Ohio State has a spy working at our highest levels?  And when they realized they can't beat us anymore they called in the hit.  Yes they know it will burn their agent (Jim Stapleton) but it's worth it to destroy our program.   It's all starting to make sense now.   Im telling you if Jim Stapleton so much as steps foot in Ann Arbor again he should be thrown in prison.

Ps - And let's not forget none of what Michigan is accused of doing is that unusual or helpful.  If the NCAA wants to stop it they can just give microphones in the helmets
