The SJ Sharks Just Gave Up 10 Goals In Back-To-Back Games, Could Be The Worst Team In NHL History

The San Jose Sharks aren't just bad. They aren't just dreadful. They are potentially the worst team in NHL history. It's beyond comprehension, really. With the minimum salary cap and more talent than ever in the league, it's really hard to be as bad as the Sharks are. They are winless through their first 11 games, going 0-10-1. But even crazier is the goal differential. Through 11 games they have a -43 goal differential! They lose a game on AVERAGE by 4 goals! That's impossible! But it's true. The next lowest in the league is -14…and both teams in last place in the East have a positive goal differential. That's simply how terrible the Sharks are.

You gotta feel awful for the players on the ice and the fans in the stands. To be failed so badly by a professional franchise to the point you are giving up 10 goals in back to back games has to feel fucking awful. Like, we've all felt that helpless in a competitive sport- I played a ton of roller hockey growing up and into my late 20's, and you just know that feeling where the other team outmatches you- they skate better, shoot faster, have a goalie who didn't show up already drunk. That must be how the Sharks feel right now and it's gotta suckkkkkk.

And you know what stinks too? The Sharks rule. When they joined the league in the early 90's, everyone wanted Sharks merch. The Sharks Starter Jacket was the hottest thing you could wear. The teal was so cool. So I think everyone who was a kid in the 90's has a soft spot in their heart for the Sharks (and the Ducks too, obviously). So nobody wants to see the Sharks stink like this. The NHL should do an emergency expansion draft and let them pick up a couple guys, it's just too sad to see them suck this badly. Oh and ban the owner/GM/whoever is responsible for letting this happen.
