A Full Video Review of Chicago's Famous Bar: Declan's Irish Pub

Welcome back to Da Bars season 3, episode 5. This time we're at a treasured landmark in the Barstool Sports universe - Declan's Irish Pub located in Chicago's famous Old Town neighborhood. 1240 N. Wells with a stocked kitchen, enthusiastically staffed bar and a top-5 proprietor (any industry) across our entire city. I'm here to show you everything you need to know about this sweet tier-1, elite establishment.

And while the video captures a lot, there's a handful of things worth emphasizing.

Dave Miller. Owner. One of the best guys I've met through this job. Works his dick off to keep Declan's an awesome place free of typical Old Town douchebag behavior. The dedication mixed with the easy going attitude and a great relationship with the staff means the place is always running in peak form.

And while I typically don't value being nice in a traditional sense, it's overwhelming how pleasant Dave Miller is at all times. Truly one of the better dispositions you'll encounter and I really mean it. Go support Declan's and find out for yourself. He's the handsome guy emanating Midwestern values upon entrance.

Declans. Home of the best party every thrown

You remember this better than me. Almost 10 years ago:

That's insane to think about but very true. Almost 10 years ago Declan's gave us the theatre of a lifetime. And now 10 years later you get a full bodied review. Let's not wait another 10 years for next time though. Please.

Chicken Tenders. Hand breaded and delicious. You got a smorgasbord of sauces and the recipe is homemade. They're thin, extra crispy and have a ridiculous ratio of meat-to-crunch. You won't be disappointed.

Gold Tee. Full course selection. I hate getting sandbagged with 8 courses on a Golden Tee because the bar won't upgrade the software package. Not the case at Declan's because they have the full 2023 catalogue of tracks including Knollwood, my home course. You don't see that at a Hooters much less an Irish Pub on Chicago's near northside. Soak it in fellas.

Miller Lites. Everywhere. So tasty. So delicious. Easily the best bucketed beer available either 12 ounce can or bottle. Today's review is heavy bottle and that's a good thing. But I still love a can. Really more about availability than anything else and we had plenty at our disposal at Declan's Irish Publ. So thank you Dave Miller Lite.

This bar means a lot to me. I'm asking you guys to find a reason to go in for a beer. Even if it's just one beer for 20 minutes and then you're out the door. Just do yourself a favor and go to Declan's Irish Pub at 1240 N. Wells.

    Last thing. If you're throwing a party…

You can book upstairs and it's not crazy expensive. It's sensible. Dave loves hosting parties up there. Could be birthday or random brunch or engagement or just to have a spot blocked off for the boys to watch the Notre Dame game.

One of the best kitchens. One of the best vibes. One of the best guys and staffs behind it. One of the best bars in Chicago.

Declans Irish Pub 1240 N Wells.
