Five Songs Every Bar Should Play On Thanksgiving Eve No Questions Asked
Thanksgiving Eve … and Thanksgiving for that matter, safe to say I have had a strong opinion about it over the years. Despite what haters on the internet want to tell you … for a good period of your life, if you do it right it’s the best.
Absolute top tier bar night.
Just got to make sure you get your outfit early ..,
But I cannot stress enough how much I liked this night back in the day
I know everyone wants to bash it and say it’s overcrowded etc. Everyone complains they hate seeing people they didn’t want to run into at the local bar yada yada. Maybe it’s because I went to a high school where everyone was from different neighborhoods or boroughs for that matter and that there’s a ton of bars on Staten Island and people run with different crowds etc, but Thanksgiving Eve for me was never seeing the same old people. You pregamed with the same old people. I threw the party every year which grew bigger and bigger with my younger siblings over the years , but once you got into the bars it was a melting pot. Friends of friends, randoms, it was like Tinder in real life. Bar area packed , dancefloor packed. Everyone out there giving it their best shot to take someone home (quietly and into the basement because almost all 20 somethings still live with their parents). Everyone without a care in the world staying out all night long pounding drinks knowing the only thing they have to do is wake up before 3pm and eat the next day.

Been a long time since I was out on the battlefield fighting for elbow room at the bar and scoping out dance partners, and even though I probably can’t name a single Top 40 song on the charts right now. Here’s my opinion as a crafty veteran with 5 songs every bar should play tonight no questions asked.
Honorable Mention :
2pm In Turtle Bay Freestyle
Listen I gotta give Tommy credit, the guys gone from a dude who almost ruined the Call Her Daddy brand because he was so cringe to a hit rapper. Play the freestyle tonight, give Tommy some street cred.
5- Levels - Avicii
You didn’t expect a list without this one right ? Come on. Banger .
4- All Night Longer- Sammy Adams
Personally , my favorite Sammy track is still driving me crazy but this one has the best approval rating and gets the people going in the bars. Just an all timer. ALLLL timer. You hit this at the right time it’s like a jumpstart to the night.

3- Mr.Brightside - The Killers
Could be the best Bar song of all time. I’m just lucky enough to have come up through the bar scene the exact time this song debuted. Was a senior in HS when it was released and even now everytime I hear it I’m underaged or young and it’s 2am at a bar. Just a damn anthem. Any DJ who doesn’t play this is a dope.
2- All I Want For Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey
This should almost always be played as the last 3-4 songs if not the last song of the night, but at 3:20 am there was nothing better than getting AMPED when they would unleash this one. Everyone is over served , everyone has spent too much money, everyone is bombed and the night is at a point where people are about to start fighting and throwing up or rally together in harmony. Nothing brings drunk people together like belting out Mariah . Was my favorite part of the night. Absolutely NEEEEEEED it.
1- Show Me Love (Extended Mix) - Robyn S
True story . Was in line for the bathroom once . Girls line next to me, little bit in front we’re two girls on their line. This starts playing they turn on a dime and run to the dance floor past me. I look on the dance floor. Just before one of them got there she popped an ACL.
Robin S will do that to you. Just an all time vines song. Anyone with a brain loves this one from 22 years old to 82 years old.
Enjoy the holiday , don’t be an asshole … call a cab.
