USA TODAY- Bills Mafia rallied around Tyler Bass by donating more than $50,000 to a local cat shelter after the Buffalo Bills kicker deactivated his social media accounts. Bass's online presence disappeared after he missed a potential game-tying field goal in the team's 27-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs on Sunday.

Fans on X, formerly Twitter, noticed that Bass' account, @tbass_xvi, was deactivated after the game. At the time of publication on Monday, the page said, "This account doesn’t exist." The kicker's Instagram account with the same username also was deactivated. The page read, "Sorry, this page isn't available."

Both accounts were still down as of Tuesday afternoon. Bills Mafia, the name of Buffalo's diehard fanbase, started donating to local nonprofit Ten Lives Club to show support to Bass after he reportedly received online hate. A representative for Ten Lives Club told USA TODAY Sports via Instagram direct message that 646 people have donated for a total of $14,760 as of Monday night. By Tuesday morning, the tally was "definitely more than $50,000 and climbing."

The kicker is a brand ambassador for the organization, which is a no-kill cat rescue and shelter. Fans were donating amounts of $22 to commemorate Bass's No. 2 jersey.

I know we've covered Bills fans money-bombing a player's charity because they did something on a football field that helped out those wonderful Western New York wildlings.

But this is the first time I can remember Bills fans circling the wagons for a player that did something that actually hurt their team.

Not that I'm pinning all of Sunday's loss on Tyler Bass. Far from it. You can blame Bass for missing the kick the unofficially ended the game. But you should also blame the entire Bills offense and defense for allowing the game to get to the point that Buffalo put their entire season on the leg of a kicker that had to drill a 44 yarder on a windy night in fucking BUFFALO after multiple fumbles broke their way. Even if Bass nailed that field goal, something tells me Patrick Mahomes would've still won the game once he got the ball back with 1:43 left and two timeouts (Source: Every single time Patrick Mahomes has played against the Bills in the playoffs).

Yes it would've been nice if Bass made the kick or at least missed it any direction but Wide Right so Bills fans didn't have to overcome another gut wrenching loss to the Chiefs along with reliving Scott Norwood. But at least a bunch of pets will be helped out and we got an electric call of the kick from the Korean broadcast team.

I know there will be plenty of people mad online that Bills fans are donating to Bass' cause after he missed that kick and ended the craziest roller coaster season an 11 win team has ever gone on, which I get. But if you are mad that a company with this tagline is getting money regardless of the reason, you might be a punk if not an actual monster.

P.S. I've long been a believer in karma and good juju. But if the Bills don't win a Super Bowl in the foreseeable future after donating to their kicker's charity following his missed kick that essentially eliminated them from the playoffs, I will have to rethink my entire stance on the matter.
