Everyone Is Upset About Indiana Basketball's New "Fear Of God" Jerseys

If any Indiana fans are still paying attention to the Hoosiers season, the team will look different today at home vs Northwestern. What's the change? A new substitution pattern from Woodson? Finally valuing 3 point shooting? Nope, alternate jerseys. Adidas' street wear brand "Fear of God" has partnered with IU and Miami to bring new jerseys and shoes to both the university's men's and women's programs.

Initially my old ass thought this was some partnership with Kanye West, but this look is from former Nike designer, turned Adidas employee, Jerry Lorenzo (son of MLB player/manager Jerry Manuel.) Not sure if Kanye or Jerry came first with this style, but someone copied someone's whole fucking flow with this whole aesthetic.

When these Fear of God jerseys came out, I rolled my eyes. BUT, when you look past the welding mask, these jerseys are kind of fire. The photoshoot reveal is always underwhelming and never does the jersey justice. The internet loves to hate on any new reveal. I was right there hating with everyone when the Colt's unveiled their Indiana Nights uniforms, but when I saw them on the field, I loved them.

These Indiana jerseys will be no different. I guarantee they are going to look great on the court. When the Hoosiers lose the early lead after Woody starts rotating in the bench players, Indiana is going to look so fucking cool. All cynicism aside - this is good for IU. The old heads at involved with the program have been hesitant to get any new gear for the program because "tradition". While tradition is significant, you can still preach tradition while catering to recruits. Blue bloods like ,Kansas, UNC, Duke, and Kentucky are all winners that have been great with living in the now while embracing the past. Why not mirror those succesful programs? Tradition is a mindset that has nothing to do with jerseys. Is this new gear fans have been asking for? No. We want a script Indiana font jersey, BUT this is a step in the right direction.

The only thing I'm not feeling about this release are the shoes. These look like something you'd clip into a snowboard before hitting the slopes. Im sure like the jerseys, these kicks will look better on the court.
