NBA All-Star Game Highlights That Don't Completely Suck

Note: Please take "don't completely suck" with a grain of salt.

Hate to break to to you Larry, but that didn't happen. Not even close. That was one of the of the least competitive "competitions" of anything I've seen in my entire life. But I'm making it a personal challenge to myself to find at least 5 clips that don't completely suck.

Not terrible Trae Young. But with all due respect you could have set down the basketball, ran into the tunnel, drove out in a monster truck, then picked the ball back up and drove Grave Digger between Kevin Durant's legs.

Two highlights in and I've already moved on to things that specifically do suck. But at least that clip doesn't suck to watch. All things considered it's pretty funny, and also the 2nd most entertaining thing that's happened all night. I have noticed a trend in the NBA lately where people have been using the backboard more often to pass the ball to themselves. I think it's an extremely underutilized tool. I think you could make passes to other people off the backboard too. It doesn't even have to be for an alley-oop. Just have a basic understanding of how angles work and I feel like you can make all sorts of backboard passes. Especially right now when nobody expects that they're coming. It's my official NBA prediction that 10 years from now we're going to see the backboard being used for passing on a consistent basis.

Alright Damian that's pretty cool. I guess half court is pretty far away. I feel like the NBA isn't too many years off from people pulling up from half court on a regular basis. I'm horrible at basketball, but every time I stand at half court with a basketball it doesn't seem that far. Not that I hit them. But I'm also never THAT far off. I kinda think an NBA player should be able to hit at least 35% from there if they're unguarded

Alright I'm running out of highlights now. As I'm typing this we have 7 minutes left in the game, so I'm really hoping for 1 more halfway notable thing to happen to round out my list of 5. The East currently leads by 26 points, so I'm hoping that there's either an awesome comeback, or that the players get really really stupid with some of the shit they're willing to try. If nothing else happens I think I'm going to be forced to include this Paul George bounce pass to LeBron as the 5th best clip.

That doesn't do much for me though. Not as much as this clip I just stumbled upon of Charles Barkley talking about San Francisco. A clip that people seem to be taking seriously for some reason.

Charles Barkley is always good for saying something kinda funny. Also, here's one more I just found from earlier of Bam throwing the ball of Jokic's back.

That might be the way to fix the all-star game. If people aren't going to try on defense whatsoever, then they have to just start making people look as stupid as possible. Maybe if people get clowned hard enough they'll be forced to give at least half an effort so they don't end up on a bloopers reel.

That's about it. Congratulations to the East. They won the fake basketball game. And Damien Lillard even gave us another half courter to cap it all off. And he won the MVP.

I suppose Karl Anthony-Towns scored 50 points as well. Which is guess is notable. Although I'm sure anybody out there with a pulse who wanted to score 50 points could do it with ease. Kind of a lame move to score that many tbh. Clearly giving a shit during this game isn't the cool thing to do. Read the room KAT.

Good job NBA. You did it again. Here are a few more bonus highlights. If you can call them that.

And thank you to both the East and the lack of defense for cashing my East ML/Over parlay #DKPartner
