'We Know What They Had In Mind' - Dan Hurley Celebrated Making The Sweet 16 By Throwing Out Conspiracy Theories And Mocking The Committee
Look, this is exactly what Dan Hurley should probably be doing in this scenario. You want him to celebrate? Fine. Here's a fist pump or something like that. But Hurley is a lunatic, we all know this. I just love that he's calling out conspiracy theories for giving UConn this bracket while never mentioning they at least get to play home games in Brooklyn and Boston. Granted they are the No. 1 overall seed and deserve it, they still get to play home games.
But this is what I want. The first 4 days were fine. Not great, not terrible. We had our moments, we had our upsets, we had our stars. But what this really did was set up what should be an AWESOME second weekend. We're trying to be positive here folks. Trying something new out in March, something I don't ever really get to experience. But today is the day we stare into the abyss. Our bodies are so used to sitting on a couch, eating some nachos or wings or something like that and having no idea what time it is. We typically need a day to decompress and then get back to staring at the bracket and talking games.
Not Hurley though. Hurley is a basketball guy and he's now giving us the conspiracy theory talk. He didn't say it out loud necessarily, but he did. That line 'we know they had in mind' is great. I love sports conspiracy theories. It's one of my favorite things. He should have thrown in how they aren't even getting CBS or Raftery. Just lean ALL the way into it. Start talking about how they hate the Big East. Start talking about how they hate UConn. Do whatever because we need it today.
