Jake Diebler Should Quit Immediately After The Ohio State HR Department Said It'd Be A FELONY To Hire His Brother Jon (All-Time 3 Point Leader + College Basketball Coach) Due To Nepotism Laws

Jon Diebler is Ohio State’s all-time leader in three-pointers made. He is also the director of recruiting for the Butler men’s basketball team. Both of these things would seem to make him a viable candidate to come back to the Buckeyes in some type of capacity.

However, sources indicate to Buckeye Huddle that men’s basketball coach Jake Diebler was not permitted to hire his brother Jon to be part of his coaching staff.

So said the University’s legal and human resources departments, citing the state of Ohio’s nepotism laws.

GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE! This cannot be true. I refuse to believe this is true. I had to double, triple, and quadruple check to make sure this wasn't written by The Onion. But nope, it's real, and multiple sources are confirming it: Jake Diebler was NOT ALLOWED to hire his brother to be the 5th assistant coach on the Ohio State Men's Basketball Coaching Staff because the fucking HR DEPARTMENT WOULDN'T ALLOW IT!!!!!

I've never been more embarrassed of my University in my entire life. The HR Department runs the show now? Besides, it's a bullshit connection to the law, and there's a 0.0% chance anyone would get in trouble for it. We had Urban Meyer hire his son-in-law Corey Dennis on the staff. We've had Jim Tressel hire his brother Dick Tressel on staff. But now we can't have Jake Diebler hire his brother Jon, who is not only a former Ohio State player but also a currently staff member at Butler???? You can't tell me he's not qualified. But the fucking HR Department nixed the idea because of this law:

Many families have a strong tradition of public service and it is common for two family members to serve the same public agency or municipality. However, the Ethics Law forbids public officials or employees from authorizing or using a public position to secure “public contracts” – including a public job – for a member of their family. Therefore, public officials and employees are prohibited from using their public position to directly hire, or to secure the hire, of a family member. In fact, in the state of Ohio, nepotism is a fourth degree felony.

I can't remember the last time I was this jaw-dropped. A 4th Degree Felony. I'm not joking when I say this: Jake Diebler should quit today. If the HR Department is already controlling his decisions before he even has a cup of coffee on the job, then this isn't the job I'd want to have. Can't hire the all-time three point leader at Ohio State? Who is also a college basketball coach???? I'd march my ass right to the new AD and say you have two options: 

1. Hire my brother on the staff and tell the HR Director to fuck himself 

2. I quit

I'll say it again: I've never been more embarrassed of my University. A 4th degree felony. Could you imagine? Jake Diebler hires his brother Jon and then never gets to coach a game because he's doing 5 years in a federal prison.
