Shout Out To The Starting Line For Getting A Shout Out On The New Taylor Swift Album

You could make the argument The Starting Line's "The Best Of Me" is the quintessential pop punk/emo song. Up there with classics like "What's My Age Again", "The Middle", and "Sugar We're Going Down", if you told me "The Best Of Me" is the best of the pack, I wouldn't argue it. Nothing sums up early 2000's teenage life like that song. And the entire album is great front to back. Not a skip to be found. Plus, the music video…the lead singer…yeah, they fucking ROCK.

Simpler time, man.

So while you probably have heard TBOM on TouchTunes at your local dive bar, sadly The Starting Line didn't blow up like the aforementioned Blink 182, Fall Out Boy, or Jimmy Eat World. But they still hold a strong spot in early 2000's lore, still tour, and while I haven't seen them, apparently still put on a hell of a show.

So all of that leads up to last night/today when Taylor Swift (singer/songwriter) released a 31 track double album. One of the songs is called "The Black Dog", named after a pub in London. In that song she goes:

We made it bros!!!

This is exactly how I felt hearing that line:

Couldn't be happier for TSL. They're gonna get a hell of a Spotify bump from this (that .000000004 cents per spin!).

And I'm super jealous of everyone who is going to listen to The Starting Line for the first time now. Imagine some Swiftie hearing The Best Of Me for the first time? And then learning there's a whole genre of music they missed out on that rocks? Incredible.

I'll leave you with the music video. Happy Friday to all. Oh and as for the album, pretty good. Taylor is insane for dropping a 31 track double album, and almost every song is a hit. I have no idea how she does this. It's literally nuts she is able to consistently write and make incredible music that resonates with so many people. Then she goes on tour and does 3 hour shows. All while being the most famous person in the world. It's truly, truly insane.
