If Reggie Bush Is Getting His Heisman Back, Ohio State's "Tattoo 5" Needs Be Put Back In The Record Books Too

Can I say something? I have zero problem with Reggie Bush getting his Heisman back. He should, and it's insane to think that it was ever taken away. But doesn't this open up a million other complaints about what else should be fixed now that NIL is a thing? I mean, if you go 50 miles an hour in a 35, and you get a ticket, but 5 years later they increase the Speed Limit, does that mean you can go in and get your fine refunded? And I get that this isn't the NCAA making this decision, but the point still remains: if we're giving Reggie Bush his Heisman back, I want to address some other injustices that were handed down when the rules were different. Starting with the most egregious of them all, the time where Ohio State was essentially given the Death Penalty for receiving a few free tattoos.

This was tweeted nearly 3 years ago, for a heinous crime that happened about 15 years ago. And while the 12-1 record, Big 10 title, and multiple records being wiped away are laugh out loud funny, one thing that is not funny at all is how the NCAA ruined Coach Jim Tressel's life.

All jokes aside, why did Harbaugh get 4 games and Jim Tressel got 5 years for the same crime? And why did Jim Tressel end up on the cover of Sports Illustrated with a title that makes it sound like he covered up a murder scandal? And why did Roger Goodell say he was going to suspend Tressel from the NFL if the Colts didn't hold him out! Meanwhile, Harbaugh gets to commit the same crime, and then wayyyyyyy more, and jump ship to the Chargers.

But that's not the point of this blog. If the Heisman Trust is going to be the bigger man and reinstate Reggie Bush's Heisman, then it's time the NCAA rights their biggest wrong….ever….and issue a public apology to Jim Tressel, Terrelle Pryor, and Ohio's Tate. Don't forget that my freshman year was ruined because what the QB/Coach combo I thought was going to take us to a National Championship ended up being an interim Luke Fickell and Joe fucking Bauserman taking snaps.

Tattoos. We're talking about fucking tattoos. At least Reggie Bush got several thousands of dollars…
