You Can Add The Red Sox To The List Of Bad Teams The Guardians Are Beating Up On To Inflate Their MLB Leading 18 Wins

So I tweeted this the other day and everyone and their brother chimed in to let me know that it's not hard to have a good record when you get all of your games against the A's for the season out of the way before May. Fine, point taken. It sucks to get all of your games against such a bad team out of the way and realize you don't get to play them again.......but while I have you guys here, how about the Red Sox?

I'm not saying the Red Sox are going to win the World Series (because the Guardians are), but what's the cut-off line of teams that we're allowed to beat and be excited about? Because after today's 6-4 win over Boston, that's now two series, two series wins, and a 5-2 overall record against the 14-12 Red Sox. Think if they never had to play Cleveland yet! And I'm sure you're all going to say it's still April, but my second question is this: at what point am I allowed to be excited about the Guardians hot start?

The fact of the matter is that we may be done with the A's and the Red Sox for the year, but we've still got plenty of White Sox in our future. And there's a whole lot of AL Central, although it's much better than expected thus far, baseball still to be played. We're officially 15% done with the season and the Guardians have the most wins in the league. At some point we'll calm down, but what if build up enough of a record early on that this projected below .500 team still makes the playoffs? Or, wait for it, what if we never cool off.....?

Now, it's not all candy and roses here in Cleveland. I do feel bad about one thing. I let you all down this afternoon, not realizing til midway through the game that my old man took off work to take in the ballgame.

That ones on me, guys. I'll be better next time. If I'd have known that, that 5-0 start through two innings on the back of a Jose Ramirez grand slam would've had the boys BUZZIN. I'm just hoping I don't hear from the other supporters of my old man in attendance, citing a financial crisis due to my lack of unawareness this afternoon.

Next time, next time.

Anyways, tomorrow night kicks off what some people are already calling the series of the year. The 18-7 Guardians head to Atlanta to face off against the 17-6 Braves. The two best teams in baseball. If we win that series, can I say something about it? Or do I need to wait until September for that too?
