Falcons GM Terry Fontenot Said It Would Actually Be Great if Michael Penix Doesn't Play for FIVE YEARS

That is a real quote from the guy who just used the No. 8 overall pick in the NFL Draft on Michael Penix. Somehow, this waking nightmare becomes worse with every passing minute.

I don't know if Terry Fontenot knows this or not, but he will no longer be an NFL general manager if Penix sits for the entirety of his rookie contract. He will get to watch a 29-year-old Penix take his first snap as a starter while in his new career as a shift leader at TJ Maxx, something that feels a little more his speed. And all that is to not even mention the fact that I would argue it's actually quite a bad thing if your first round pick can't get on the field for five years — call me crazy.

Even if you believe this horseshit for some reason, you don't fucking say it when you just took this guy with the eighth pick. If anything, you need to start negging Kirk Cousins and hyping Penix up. You've already pissed off your franchise quarterback of five weeks, may as well go all in on the new kid at this point.

I still can't believe this happened. Someone lock Terry in a separate room of the facility by himself for the next 48 hours and don't let him near a microphone when he comes out. This man needs to be protected from himself.
