Shedeur Sanders Calling An Ex-Colorado Player "Mid At Best" Started A Wild Two Days On Twitter With Deion And Other Players Getting Involved
The Athletic published a very in-depth article on Monday detailing what happened to all the players Deion Sanders replaced with his Louis V luggage.
The main character of the story was a DB named Xavier Smith, who said that Deion didn't give him a fair chance and destroyed his confidence. Shedeur took to Twitter and did not take it easy on Xavier:

Judging a DB off of his ESPN stat line isn't necessarily fair, but that's exactly what Deion did. Thanks to this tweet, Deion's OTHER son (Shilo), was brought into the conversation:

The "I got time today" was immediately made fun of by Twitter:
Last season, Deion got a bit too much praise. People were discussing Colorado as a CFP contender in September. If you questioned it, you were called nasty things on Twitter.
But now? The narrative has changed. Deion, truthfully, may be getting too much shit. He went 4-8 last year, which was an improvement for Colorado. His recruiting has not been as strong as expected, but he is revving up for a big 2024. He worked the portal very well, as they've brought in a total of 34 players and rank first in the On3 Portal Rankings:
What would success look like this year for Colorado? Their win total sits at 5.5, so I guess a bowl game? With how brash the talk has been out of Boulder, just one bowl game for Shedeur and Travis Hunter being considered a success would be something.

In 2023, Deion was pretty clear that he think Colorado would win a national championship in a "few years." I just don't know how that would be possible. He has recently stated he wont follow Shedeur to the NFL, but what is Colorado going to look like without his two best players in 2025? His recruiting hasn't been great and you can win a national championship through additions in the portal, but you build a national championship roster through recruiting. Everything about Colorado feels like Deion is going to leave. It's all in for 2024, with the hope of either going to the NFL, or finding another job in college.
