A 34-Year-Old Woman, Who Has Both A Job And A Car, Was Caught Living Inside A Fully Furnished Grocery Store Sign For Over A Year

When contractors were working on the Family Fare grocery store in Midland, they unexpectedly found a woman, 34, living inside the rooftop sign.

Okay so let me say this: when I first saw this headline on Twitter, I assumed it was a poor, homeless lady who found a nice, warmer than outside in the winter place to sleep, and I wasn't going to blog it. Kinda sad to think that a 34 year old lady is living inside a Supermarket sign because she has no other options. Or maybe she was one of those squatter assholes? How long do you need to live in a grocery store sign without the store manager noticing before you own the whole place? Pretty sure it's like 4 weeks in New York. But nope, it's neither. I can't wrap my mind around this story, starting with the fact that she made the house into a HOME.

Inside her dwelling, she had a mini desk, flooring, a pantry of food and even a houseplant. Contractors discovered an extension cord on the roof and traced it to the dwelling inside the Family Fare sign.

This is literally Dane Cook living inside Costco in Employee of the Month. Fully furnished apartment inside a store. I mean, I pay $2700 a month in rent and don't even have a mini desk or a houseplant. But I guess those are both just material items....the flooring is what's truly impressive. How can a lady who has to resort to living inside a grocery store sign have the means to get FLOORING?

Oh wait, it's because she's not poor.

The woman has a job. Police also believe she has a vehicle.

A JOB AND A CAR?! This lady is living better 50% of Americans right now. In fact, it's probably more like 90% of Americans when you realize she has no housing bill. People work their entire lives to be able to pay off their house, and even then they have property taxes to deal with. Not this lady though, she cracked the code!

And there was no punishment!!

No criminal charges were filed against her. Officers offered the woman housing assistance and other resources. She declined their help. In addition, police said the store agreed to work with the woman to get her furniture down and back to her.

I'm not one to talk privilege but I do find this to be funny. I could see this lady getting popped for trespassing at minimum, with a plethora of other laws she broke in the process. But nope! The police said you're good, how can we help with your housing, and we'll get a couple movers over here to help you get your stuff down free of charge.

Wait, how'd she get her stuff up there in the first place? And how do you live in the fucking grocery store sign? I need an MTV Cribs episode before they take it all down.
