Jayson Tatum's Whining Session About The Celtics Expectations Is One Of The More Embarrassing Things I've Seen From A #1 Seed And Heavy Favorite

HAHAHAHAHA WAIT IS THIS THE ONION???? I just took the high road in my recap blog and said that I would not overreact to one win, but holy shit did Jayson Tatum overreact to one loss. I cannot believe this is the post-game press conference of a 5x All-Star, 2x 1st Team All NBA player that is the leader of the #1 seed in the East and the favorite to win the NBA Championship after losing....one game. I know they're struggling to beat the mid-Cavs when they were -1800 to win the series beforehand, but did he just make the Celtics the underdog?

PLEASE tell me that this is Jayson Tatum's way of saying he should've won MVP. Please tell me this is his way of saying his teammates deserved more accolades. Please tell me this is his way of saying his Coach deserved to win Coach of the Year. But please God do not tell me this is his way of trying to downplay expectations because the media is acting like the Celtics are better than they really are. And after watching this video 3x now, I have concluded that he is doing a mixture of both. He takes a little shot with the "we didn't get rewarded like we are", but he truly believes that they aren't a "super team" like the narrative the media has presented. Jayson, you are the favorite to win the NBA Championship by a mile. You are like -110 to win the whole fucking thing. People aren't saying you have Kobe, Bron, MJ, and KD in their prime, but they're saying you should win it all because.....you should win it all.

With that being said, after watching last night's game, maybe Tatum is right and the Celtics are not that good.

Just kidding, just kidding. I refuse to allow Jayson Tatum to change the "narrative" aka the fact that if the Celtics don't win it all, this season is a failure and he's the main culprit. They've knocked on the door long enough, now they have the best team, and they have by far the easiest path. -110 to win it all! Superteam or not, the expectations are reality for this one. And the little old mid-Cavs cannot make this guy spiral this bad.

"We should not lose as 13 point favorites at home against a terrible Cleveland team, ever, let alone in the NBA Playoffs when we are in a title or bust year. That's on me. We're better than that and everyone knows it." - Jayson Tatum (what he should have said)
