Twitter Thinks They Found Their "Next Livvy Dunne" In The Form Of UNC Soccer Player Kate Faasse
Twitter is a fascinating place these days. I hop on my timeline, and the "for you" (I get the irony here) page is flooded by this "Campus Cuties" account. I don't follow them, have never interacted with them, and the only time I've even said or heard their name was when our social guy Meek Phil is across the office saying "New Campus Cuties just dropped". In short, they probably just live on the Instagram explore page, find girls who are still in college, and tweet their pictures and probably generate a zillion dollars of revenue through Elon's impression program.
It's hard to hate on a method like that, considering I'd be throwing stones from a glass house coming from the company who made the original smokeshows account. And I know you blog readers love when we use the phrase "break the internet", but if you trust random Twitter accounts with 0 followers and egg profile pictures, then Kate Faasse just might:
UNC women's soccer program is nothing short of a wagon, always ranked inside the top 10 and a national championship runner-up in 2022 followed by a bunch of quarterfinal appearances. I have watched zero games, but my educated guess is it's partially due to 2022 and 2023 All-ACC Academic Team and forward/midfielder Kate.
If I know anything about social media, after this post blew up in the last day, Kate will be at thousands of followers and a huge NIL deal by the end of the week. Besides, Twitter is trying to find their next Livvy Dunne who they can stan after she announced she's returning for her 5th and final season this year. The NIL era keeps on turning. We're only a month out from the start of the season, and I'm backing the Women Tar Heels to win it all. Go Kate go.
