Angel Reese Grabbed 4 Rebounds In The Final 4 Minutes To Finish With A Perfect 10 Point, 10 Rebound Double-Double And Extend Her Streak

So Angel Reese entered the 4th quarter of yesterday's game with 8 points and 5 rebounds. Obviously she's on the longest Double-Double streak in league history, in part to her (John Rich's words, not mine....although he's completely right and the internet got mad) begging for the ball in the final seconds of garbage time. You be the judge:

Look I don't care if you're a Caitlin Clark fan, a member of the Reese's Pieces, or someone who's never even watched a game (there are many that fall into multiple categories).....this is a funny video. The Sky are up 7, should 10000% dribble out the clock, but the Coach is directing her team to pound it inside to Angel Reese because she needs to score. And call me crazy but what a weird / intentional foul? Better defense may have been to let Angel shoot a clean look!! Either way, that's an Earned Not Given double-double for the ChiTown Barbie.

And this all leads to yesterday where she was going for the big #15 straight and things were looking pretty dreary with only 10 minutes to go. But fear not, Angel Reese has the perfect style of play to make up stats quickly.

The Double-Double Queen! And listen, I'm not even hating on her. She's a pretty good basketball player and a flat out ELITE rebounder. But the way she's gotten these last two double-doubles when the entire media world is praising her streak has been objectively funny. Yesterday, with 8:21 left in the game, she went with the get my shot blocked, get the offensive rebound, miss a layup combo…..followed up by that magnificent OReb, Miss, OReb, Miss stretch pictured about…..sandwiched it around a Defensive Rebound and a rare made layup…..leaving her needing only 1 rebound to extend the WNBA's version of DiMaggio's streak.

Do you believe in miracles?!? And then subbed out at 2:09 for the rest of the game.

Final Stat Line: 5 for 17 from the Field, 10 points, 10 rebounds - And by my calculation, THAT is good enough to continue HERstory.

Say what you want about women's basketball, and say what you want about Angel and/or Caitlin, but these two are driving the interaction and engagement of a league that has been on the back burner for decades. And while you might not (probably won't) watch, we're all going to check and see if she gets a Double-Double next game.
