Observations After a College Football 25 Play-Through
I raced home this afternoon to experience what we've all been waiting more than a decade for and let me tell you: that first loading screen and intro video are going to make you emotional. Once you start playing the game, though, you're going to realize how old you are so I wanted to throw out a few observations to prepare you.
- This game is fucking hard. Don't try to be a hero and start out on Heisman. You will regret it quickly.
- Passing is going to take a while to get used to. I still don't really know how the meter and different kinds of catches work. And if you're playing somebody online who knows how to disguise coverages and flick onto defensive backs, it's going to be even worse. You are going to throw interceptions. Keep the faith.
- The good news is that as hard as throwing the ball is, running it is seemingly easier than Madden. If you're playing with a team that likes to run the ball, you're going to be able to do that. Also, holding X on an option now keeps the ball instead of giving it.

- Doing anything on the road is virtually impossible — and I was using Tennessee. If you go on the road as an outmatched opponent, it's going to be a long afternoon.
- Everything about the presentation is incredible. Regardless of how good you are at the game, you will have an awesome time playing it if you love college football.
Just don't draw any conclusions on your skill for a couple of weeks. Enjoy this game being back in our lives and the rest will come.
