The AFL's Arena Bowl Being Held In The Middle Of A Mall Is So Perfect
How are YOU getting ready for the Arena Bowl tonight? I know I'm getting ready by pregaming it with some Cinnabon, some free samples from various Chinese food places, throw some coins into a fountain, just not sure we'll have enough time. Why am I doing all that before the Arena Bowl? Well that's because the Arena Bowl is being played right smack in the middle of a mall.
Yes, you read that right. Your Albany Firebirds and Billings Outlaws will play their championship game in the middle of the American Dream Mall in New Jersey. Now if the AFL will pay American Dream, that's another thing. Lottttttt of talk about money issues in the AFL but American Dream is going to let the boys play anyways. Like for example, maybe 2 days ago the league dismissed their CEO and is in debt to the tune of $110K to American Dream, that's arena ball baby!

One thing I love about the AFL is how outside the box they are. I worked for the league for 3 or 4 years and they are literally open to anything you want to do. I was in the huddle getting the play calls, interviewing offensive coordinators while the play was going on, I once had to jump into the stands during a play so a 6'7" defensive end didn't truck me on a pick 6, the league is great. It's the Wild Wild West, that's why the game being played in a mall is perfect.

You will have a 8 year old girl getting her ears pierced at Claire's looking out the window and she'll have the best seat in the house for a championship football game. You can go shop at Hollister and come out of that dark, cologne scented store with a new shirt and theres a chance you'll get hit with a football thrown out of bounds and the best part about that is you get to keep it! No other place in America can you get quick, hot, delicious Japanese hibachi and can catch a live football game within a 10 foot radius. Imagine going to GameStop, getting College Football 25 and then sitting down to watch a live football game. That's America baby! Someone is going to get handed an MVP Trophy in the exact same spot where kids sit on Santa's lap. What a beautiful image!
May the best team win. And you know the winners will hop right over the wall and go get a nice cold treat at a Coldstone or something. A mall may be the best place to win a championship because the places to go eat are endless. Super Bowl should look into this. Championship game in a mall screams AFL, it's so perfect.
